HCV in Practice
The HCV process is a practical tool for forest certification, land-use planning, decision-making for reponsible purchasing and investment, and conservation advocacy.
The HCV Resource Network is a central point for information that can help users of the concept with each of the three stages of the HCV Process. In these pages you will find guidance on interpreting and understanding the values themselves, identifying the values in the field, analysing threats to the values, devising appropriate management and guidance on monitoring the management practices to ensure the values are being maintained.
The information is divided as follows:
- HCV Tools and Toolkits: to help you interpret and identify the values, management options and monitoring of High Conservation Value areas
- Country pages: of activities and supporting documents relevant to the use of HCVs in each country
- Project summaries: of selected projects to identify manage and monitor HCVs
- HCV Practitioners Database: including the contact details of individuals and their project experience.
- Peer Reviews of HCV assessments: Technical Panel Peer Review requests and reports, and other Peer Reviews using HCV Resource Network guidance.
