Biography

Biologist with professional training in conservation biology and professional experience in agriculture, oil industry and civil engineering projects, particularly in the development of projects of environmental impact and compensation, wildlife conservation, biological characterization and biological collections management. My experience in the establishment of HCV started in 2008 with biological characterizations and the development of management plans for HCV in African palm plantations located at Macondo and Toninas Properties belonging to Poligrow Colombia Ltda. company, which is located in the South West area of the Colombian Orinoco. Such plantations implement the RSPO standard in their cultivation areas and processing plants. I currently serve as Project Coordinator at BioAp SAS, where I led the following HCV studies in 2013/14 following RSPO standard principles and criteria: (i) HCV Study for Macondo Property and Barandales Farm (Meta, Colombia), both owned by Poligrow Colombia; (ii) establishment of HCV areas in oil palm plantations at La Gloria and San Lucas properties located in La Gloria, Pelaya and Regidor municipalities (Colombia). Both plantations belong to the agro-industrial group Hacienda La Gloria; (iii) HCV studies for Las Toninas property owned by Poligrow Colombia. At present I work as advisor for the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in the development of the work entitled "Study of High Conservation Values (HCV) areas at Altamira Oil Palm plantation located in Orocue (Casanare, Colombia) own by Aceites Manuelita S.A.”
