Biography Since his bachelor in 2008, Arief has involved in many expeditions, assessments, and conservation projects around Indonesia from Sumatra to Papua, which enrich his skills and knowledge of floristic and plant ecology. His skill and experience empower him to accomplish many environment assessment project particularly on HCVF and EIA in Java, Lombok, Kalimantan, and Sumatra. He earned his Master degree (M.Si) at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2013, Environment Biology Program focusing on Environmental Assessment using floristic stewardship. As a botanist and vegetation expert, his involvement in HCV started in 2011 while he proceeds his Master, conducted several HCV assessment in Sumatra and Kalimantan for plantation of palm oil and pulp-and-paper concessions. Now, Arief joined with Fauna & flora International – Indonesia Program as his dedicated to carbon and biodiversity conservation. His hope is to be able to explore and report more on floral diversity especially the threatened and protected species, as well as its conservation action in Indonesia. Through his work with FFI, he has involved in several HCV assessment and management-monitoring for restoration company (IUPHHK-RE), several village forest and plantation, incorporation with private sector as well as KPH (Forest Management Unit - FMU) of Ministry of Forestry and Environment.
